Arabic Language Program Director

The ISLC is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Arabic Language Program Director.
The Arabic Program Director will provide leadership and direction for the development of the Institute’s intensive Arabic Language program. He or she is responsible for ensuring the development of Arabic language and culture curriculum and testing procedures specific to the needs of the institute’s student body. The Program Director will also coordinate and develop the overall structure of an intensive course in Modern Standard Arabic with an additional history and culture component. The Director therefore helps to recruit and train competent language course instructors. He or she will also provide professional and spiritual accountability to all Arabic program instructors and other department staff.

We are seeking an individual who possesses strong skills in Arabic (though not necessarily fluent) and who has proven leadership skills and experience. The candidate should also have a solid understanding of Arab culture and the history of the Middle East. The candidate should possess an M.A. in a related field. A high level of spiritual maturity and emotional stability is essential for this position.

Chinese Language Program Director

The Chinese Program Director will provide leadership and direction for the development of the Institute’s intensive Chinese Language program. He or she is responsible for ensuring the development of Chinese language and culture curriculum and testing procedures specific to the needs of the Institute’s student body. The Program Director will also coordinate and develop the overall structure of an intensive course in Mandarin Chinese with an additional history and culture component. The Director therefore helps to recruit and train competent language course instructors. He or she will also provide professional and spiritual accountability to all Chinese program instructors and other department staff.
